Sanjay Dutt finally released on interim bail

The Supreme Court had granted bail to Sanju baba on Monday August 20 , but due to all the legal procedures Sanju was released from Yerwada jail in Pune today on 23rd August. Sanju along with five other accused in the 1993 blasts had received temporary bail as they had not yet received a copy of the judgment. Outside the Yerwada jail, hundreds of Sanju’s fans anxiously awaited a glimpse of the star. An emotional Sanju said “I have a long battle to face, please pray for me.”
Back home in Mumbai too, fans had gathered outside the star’s home and awaited his arrival. A tired looking Sanju arrived sporting a bald look with just a day’s growth and stubble along with sister MP Priya Dutt and her husband. Dutt was imprisoned on 31st July under the Arms Act and has been sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment . He has spent around 23 days in jail and although his bail is temporary there is no doubt that his family and friends are extremely happy that he is finally home. The film fraternity too expressed their joy over Sanju baba being released from prison. Sanju arrived in Mumbai this morning at around 8.30 am and on his arrival he was welcomed home by his sisters Priya and Namrata and their husbands. Good friends Bunty Walia and politician Baba Siddiqui were also present. However as it was extremely early and the media and his fans had not expected him to arrive in the city this early there were no huge crowds until later. Later when his fans and the media gathered outside his home, Sanju came outside to thank them for their support.

Dutt said “All I can say is that I have full faith in the judiciary, full faith in my country, and full faith in the people of my country. I will also abide by the law and the decision of the court.” On receiving a copy of the judgment, Sanju will have to surrender once again to the police and reapply for bail.
