Sanjay buys Manyata's B grade film rights

Sanjay Dutt and ManyataRecently there was plenty of controversy surrounding Sanjay Dutt and Manyata's marriage. There were rumours of Manyata's impending pregnancy, then there was a show cause notice issued to Manyata regarding documents submitted for their marriage registration in Goa. Well the couple have now finally decided to with draw their marriage registration from the South Goa registrar. But now another controversy has come to light. Sanjay has reportedly bought the film rights of a B grade film, 'Lovers Like Us' that Manyata has acted in prior to her marriage.

Manyata's original name is Dilnawaz Sheikh and she was also known as Sara Khan. Earlier Manyata was keen to get into films and kept trying to get in to bollywood. Manyata apparently did get some offers, but mostly in B grade films. However prior to her marriage and before she met Dutt, Manyata has done a small budget B grade film known as 'Lovers Like Us' opposite a small time actor Nimit Vaishnav. The film was released around May 2005 in small towns and was obviously a box-office disaster. Manyata was then seen doing an item number in the film Gangajal which was by a fairly known director Prakash Jha. Manyata hoped that the item number would give her career a boost. But then Manyata met Sanjay Dutt through a common friend and that is when the two began dating and Manyata decided to abandon her dreams of acting. But Sanjay is aware that Manyata has done the film, Lovers Like Us and obviously he was not too happy about it and that's why he decided to purchase the rights of the film for Rs.20 lakhs. Apparently Sanjay has also gone to the extent of removing the VCD's and DVD's of the film from the market. Now that's what we call 'anything for love'.

Although sources claim that the film had no cheap or vulgar content, Sanjay was not   comfortable with the idea of his wife being part of a B grade flick and hence has tried to remove all traces of the film. Meanwhile Manyata too has metamorphosed in to a traditional homely wife for Sanju baba. It seems like Sanjay as well as Manyata have both decided to forget each other's past and move ahead in the hope of a brighter future with each other.
