Salman’s ‘Tubelight’ trailer nears 4 million views in mere 15 hrs

Salman Khan launched the trailer of his much-awaited film ‘Tubelight’ at an event in Mumbai on Thursday evening at 8:59 pm. Fans have been crazily waiting for its release and the stunning trailer immediately garnered immense attention.

It is barely 15 hours since the trailer was streamed online on YouTube and it has already neared four million hits on the video-sharing platform. By 11.30 am, the count is over 3.9 million hits.

Besides Salman, the trailer launch was attended by director Kabir Khan, composer Pritam, co-producer Amar Batula and Sohail Khan who plays Salman’s character Laxman’s brother and best friend Bharat in the movie.

Earlier on Thursday, Salman pacified his crazy fans by announcing the exact time of the trailer launch. He tweeted, “Kar lo yakeen, #TubelightTrailer will be here tonight at 8:59 PM. @starindia @skfilmsofficial @kabirkhankk @amarbutala @TubelightKiEid.” Director Kabir Khan also shared the details by writing, “It's #TubelightTrailer Day! Tune in at 8:59 PM on @starindia! @BeingSalmanKhan @amarbutala @TubelightKiEid @skfilmsofficial.”

The trailer was first aired on Star network’s channels Star Gold and Star Plus, before being streamed online.

‘Tubelight’ comes with the tagline ‘Kya tumhe yakeen hai? (Do you believe?)’, and the movie is about Laxman’s immense belief and faith that his brother Bharat, who went to fight the enemy, will return someday, when everyone gives up hope. The trailer also gives a glimpse of late actor Om Puri, who passed away in January this year.

While unveiling the trailer, Salman was emotional and said that he doesn’t like to watch it as it reminds him of the veteran actor. “Whenever I see the trailer and see Om Puri ji in it, it kills me. One moment he was there shooting with us and the next moment he was gone. That is why I don't like watching the trailer,” he said.

‘Tubelight’ is scheduled to hit screens on June 23 ahead of Eid.
