Salman wants Sanjay Dutt to play his mentor in ‘Sultan’

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt might soon share screen space once again in an upcoming film. According to reports, Salman is eager to have Sanjay work with him on ‘Sultan’ and has also requested producer Aditya Chopra to approach the ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’ actor for the same.

The ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ star reportedly wants Sanjay to play the role of his trainer in the film. Earlier, there were reports that Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone will play the role of Salman’s mentor in the flick, but the film’s executive producer has denied the reports as mere rumours.

“Salman is quite keen on getting Sanju for Sultan. He thinks that Sanju will be great in the role and they will have fun while shooting. Also, Dutt, who has been away is raring to go and wants to jump into work as soon as he is released. The talks are its early stages as Adi also needs to figure out if there will be any legal hassle during the making of the film, and also if his release is delayed for some reason,” a DNA report quoted a source as saying.

Sanjay is currently lodged in Pune’s Yerwada Jail serving his sentence in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. The actor is expected to be released by early next year. By that time, ‘Sultan’would have gone on floors.

Salman and Sanjay have in the past worked together in ‘Saajan’ (1991) and ‘Chal Mere Bhai’ (2000). The duo has also co-hosted the television reality show ‘Bigg Boss season 5’. Both the actors share a great camaraderie and if Sanjay is roped in for ‘Sultan’, then the duo will be seen together on the silver screen after a gap of 15 years.

Meanwhile, Salman who will play the eponymous role of a wrestler is training hard under Hollywood stunt director Larnel Stovall of ‘Hunger Games’ fame. 'Sultan' will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, While the cast of the film has not yet been announced, speculations are rife that Parineeti Chopra will play the lead actress.
