Salman seeks police help to trace person behind fake message in his name

A fake message in Salman Khan’s name with a doctored image of the actor has been circulating on social media and WhatsApp groups about his upcoming film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. The ‘kick’ star’s aides immediately took action rubbishing the message and lodged a complaint with the police.

The alleged message claims that the superstar’s soon-to-be-released movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ would prove to be a hit even without his Muslim fans watching it.

Salman Khan has sought the help of the Mumbai police to probe who is behind the fake message in his name about his forthcoming Eid release, police said.

“A complaint has been registered with the Cyber Cell by his aide on the messages being circulated on various social media. We are looking into it before deciding further,” Mumbai police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni told IANS.

In the past also, the actor has been targeted by social media messages leading him to seek police’s help.

Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ narrates the emotional tale of a man who is on a mission to take a mute child from across the border who is lost in India, to her home in Pakistan.

Salman plays the role of a Hanuman devotee in the film. Also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film is set to release on July 17.
