Salman Khan’s third instalment of 'Dabangg' to release on Eid, 2017

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan seems to have developed an affinity to release his films on the auspicious day of Eid. The actor’s film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ starring Kareena Kapoor is set to release on the eve of Eid this year, on July 17.

Yash Raj Films’ ‘Sultan’ starring Salman in the role of Haryanvi wrestler Sultan Ali Khan is also set to release on Eid 2016. And now, yet another of of the ‘Kick’ actor’s films has been announced for the festive season the following year, i.e. 2017, according to reports.

Salman is planning to release the third instalment of his hit franchise ‘Dabangg’ on Eid 2017. The actor will start shooting for the film once he completes shooting for Sultan, said the report in an entertainment portal.

Recently, a teaser of ‘Sultan’ was unveiled revealing the release date of the Ali Abbas Zafar film on Eid, 2016. Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is also releasing on the same day.

Both the Khan-starrer films will lock horns in one of the biggest ever box office battles next year. While the clash of the Khans next Eid has become one of the hottest topics, it was assumed that, going by past instances, ‘Raees’ might shift its release date. However, producer Ritesh Sidhwani’s Twitter post set all assumptions and speculations to rest.

Ritesh tweeted, “We had announced in February that we will be releasing our film on EID 2016 & we are on schedule to release it as planned #RaeesOnEid2016”.

So while ‘Sultan’ will fight it out with ‘Raees’ next Eid, Salman’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is also releasing on a day when ‘Raess’ actress Mahira’s Pakistani film ‘Bin Roye’ hits screens. The story of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is about a man on a mission to take a little girl lost in India to her homeland Pakistan.
