Salman Khan’s production ‘Hero’ to clash with 'Welcome Back' on Sept 4


Director Nikhil Advani’s film ‘Hero’, the first look of which was unveiled on July 2, and Anees Bazmee’s comedy ‘Welcome Back’ are set to lock horns at the box office on September 4.

While ‘Hero’ is the remake version of Subhas Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster film of the same name that starred Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri, ‘Welcome Back’ with an ensemble of star casts of Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, John Abraham, Shruti Hassan, Dimple Kapadia and Nasseruddin Shah, is the sequel of 2007 rib-tickler ‘Welcome’.     

Commenting on the clash between the two films, Nikhil said, “I think that there are enough screens and enough audiences. I just feel, let the trailer of ‘Hero’ come.” He informed that film’s producer Salman Khan and others related to it are planning to launch the trailer on July 15.

The trailer of ‘Welcome Back’ was released on July 6 and going by it, the film seems to be another laugh riot.

The remake ‘Hero’ stars Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty. The film marks the Bollywood debut of both the star kids. It also marks the debut of Salman as producer.

Meanwhile, Nikhil’s other directorial ‘Katti Batti’ will also hit screens just two weeks after the release of ‘Hero’. When asked how he was managing between the two films, Nikhil said, “I just leave it to the two studios to tell me what to do.”

‘Hero’ is set to release on September 4, while ‘Katti Batti’starring Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut is slated to release on September 18.
