Salman Khan’s next production is on male striptease artiste

Salman Khan has ‘stripteased’ his fans by going shirtless in almost all his movies. Right from his debut flick ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ to the latest ‘Sultan’, he has falunted his well-built physique. And now he is going to make a movie on male striptease artist.

Salman has locked his upcoming production venture which is a biopic on Somen or Steve Banerjee, a Bengali immigrant and founder of Chippendales, a touring dance troupe best known for its male striptease performances.

In interaction with Bombay Times, Salman himself confirmed the news saying, “A Bengali man who moved from India to America in the late 60s, struggled and created one of America’s most iconic brands. We are going to tell the story of Somen Banerjee, a man driven by fierce ambition on celluloid.”

“The story of Somen Banerjee has all the shades of a gangster film – raw greed, power and violence. We are currently working on the script and the plan is two fold – to produce a feature film and to develop it as a mini series as well,” a member of the production team added further.

The biopic, a total rags-to-riches story, will track Somen’s journey from Kolkata to Los Angeles and Europe, where Banerjee had his businesses in London, Hamburg, Philadelphia and Florida. The Chippendales, a first of its kind nightspot in the US began in late 70s and has turned into a global enterprise that tours six continents. The troupe’s dancers' are dressed in distinctive upper body costume of a bow tie and shirt cuffs worn on an otherwise bare torso.

Meanwhile, Salman is currently in Manali, Himachal Pradesh shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. He will then return to Mumbai to shoot for his television reality show ‘Bigg Boss 10’. He also has three more projects in the pipeline - Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Abbas Mastan’s ‘Race 3’ and brother Arbaaz Khan’s ‘Dabangg 3’.
