Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera gets clean chit in assault case


Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera heaved a sigh of relief as Mumbai police gives him clean chit in recenly registered assault case against him.

A man by the name  Attar Umar Qureshi allegedly that Shera repotedly broke his collar bone and threatened him with a gun during a heated argument. An FIR in this regard was registered at the DN Nagar police station on Wednesday, October 26.

The incident took place on late Tuesday night at around 2.30 am when Shera had an altercation with one Attar Umar Qureshi on Link road. Shera reportedly went on to beat up Qureshi, after which the victim approached the police station and filed a complaint. Shera has been booked under section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 326 of the Indian Penal Code, senior police inspector Dhanaji Nalawade of DN Nagar police station told PTI.

In his statement to police, Shera had said that he had a verbal argument with Qureshi and not involved in a physical fight. He even added saying, “On Tuesday, I went to meet a friend at Kokilaben Hospital and from there to Pop Tate’s which is where we had the verbal argument. I didn’t get down from my car so there is no question of hitting anyone.”

During the investigation process, Shera told police that an unknown person tried to stop his car around 2 am near Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow. Shera even said that when he didnot stop his car, the man intentionally lyed down on the road in front of his car.

A senior police officer was quoted by the leading daily Mumbai Mirror saying, “We started searching for witnesses and came across taxi and auto-drivers who in their statement reiterated that someone had fallen down on the road to stop a car and injured himself in the process.”
