Salman Khan to start shooting for ‘Kick 2’ in 2018

Salman Khan-starrer 2014 blockbuster ‘Kick’ will have a sequel which will go on floors in 2018, according to reports. There has been a lot of speculation regarding a sequel to the Sajid Nadiadwala directorial, and a source close to the filmmaker has confirmed that the script of ‘Kick 2’ is 80 percent ready.

A report in DNA quoted the source as saying, “He (Sajid) has finished writing 80 per cent of ‘Kick 2’. He has sounded Salman out about the script and the actor loves it. They’ve decided to work on the film from the middle of 2018.”

The source further mentioned that Salman will reprise his character, but the rest of the cast will change. “All the other characters would be different,” he said. Besides Salman, ‘Kick’ also starred Randeep Hooda, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in central roles.

“‘Kick 2’ would’ve happened in 2017 itself. But this year Salman is busy with Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ and Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Sajid has three releases lined up in 2017. First, there’s Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’, followed by Sabbir Khan’s ‘Baaghi 2’ and ‘Judwaa 2’. So, they’ve decided to work together in 2018.”

Singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya, who composed music for ‘Kick’, will compose the music for the sequel as well. Speculations are rife that Salman’s alleged girlfriend Iulia Vantur might sing for ‘Kick 2’. The Romanian beauty has already lent her vocals for a song in Himesh’s album ‘Aap Se Mausiiquii’.

‘Kick’ is an official remake of a Telugu movie with the same title, that starred  Ravi Teja and Ileana D’Cruz.
