Salman Khan to build a new house, will move out of Galaxy apartment

Salman Khan will soon get a new address. The superstar will shift from his childhood abode to a new place. He has been residing at Galaxy apartment for long, long years and now the Khan parivaar is thinking to shift to their new property in Chimbai, Bandra which Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan purchased in 2011.

The recent visit of the actor sparked the rumour that Salman Khan and his family will make a big house on their new property and reside together. Days ago, he visited the place which is barricaded, he also conversed with the locals. He spend considerable amount of time there. It is said that construction is underway.

The source told TOI, "There is still time to decide upon how and what it has to be constructed on the property which was bought years back in 2011. Also, there is no concrete decision on what should be built on the said property as the family is still to decide the plan. There is no hurry to leave Galaxy apartments and erect a new house. It will take some time."

In 2011, Salman Khan's parents, Salim and Salma Khan, had bought the 4,000 square feet property for Rs 14.4 crore stands on 4,000 square feet and has two decaying cottages, Belle Mar and Belle Vue. The cottages were originally owned by a certain Mary Clotilda Baptista, who sold it to a Charlottee Mary Pereira in 1956. After Pereira's death in 1987, the property went to her sons Quentin and Melville. The Perieras sold the property to Khar-based Salim Shaikh in 2005, who in turn sold it to Salim and Salma Khan in 2011.

The Khans plan to build a five storey building plus a ground floor. The ground floor will have a family room, a pantry and an entrance lobby whereas the upper floors will have a two-bedroom flat each. The building will also have two basements with provision of 16 cars parking slot with an open terrace and a dome in the centre.
