Salman Khan to be back as romantic 'Prem' in 2014

The lucky stars are shining merrily on our very own Salman Khan. He has turned almost anything into gold with his Midas touch. The back to back hits like ‘Wanted’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ek tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabangg 2’ have established him as the number one hero of the Bollywood film industry. Most of his hits have also joined the coveted Rs. 100 crore club as well.

It seems he has revived the action film genre once again single handedly. All his roles in the past few movies were action oriented and it seems the crowd loves it. But there are other shades of emotion too that Salman have played so well in the past. No one can forget the romantic characters he played in the films such as ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’, ‘Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai’ and ‘Saajan’ etc. He even got the first hit of his career with a romantic film that went on to be a block blaster and made him what he is today. The film was ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989) that was directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The character of romantic ‘Prem’ played by him in the film won the heart of millions and he became a star over night.

Salman Khan had been the hot favorite of Sooraj since the early days of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. The duo went on to deliver hit films like ‘Hum Saath Sath Hain’ (in the year 1999) and ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ (in the year 1994).  Both were romantic films to the core and established Salman’s image as a romantic hero. We shouldn’t forget that at their time both the films created box office collection records and kept the registers ringing.

It is heard that the director Sooraj Barjatya is all set to start working on his new project. He wishes to have none other but Salman Khan in his film. Salman is the blue eyed lucky boy for Sooraj. However, Salman is busy this year since almost all his dates are booked for 2013. Not to be daunted Sooraj Barjatya has decided to wait for a year, for his lucky mascot.

We would also love to see Salman back in a romantic role again, after a long time. Maybe another hit from Salman will bring back the era of romantic films in Bollywood.
