Salman Khan Sustains Injury During The Shooting of Mental

Superstar Salman Khan was reported to have sustained an injury to his right foot. The actor had been shooting for his upcoming film,Mental, in the famous Ramoji film city of Hyderabad. On the afternoon of Monday, Khan was shooting an action sequence. Though he has been shooting action scenes for close to twenty years now, he miscalculated and sprained his ankle. According to reports, Salman was injured in his right toe.

A source said, “Salman is in a lot of pain. All the power-packed action scenes have managed to affect his fitness levels. He had many scenes where he had to hang from cables. It caused him to not being able to walk properly.”

The shooting was cancelled for the day. However, Salman is keeping well. He tweeted, “@BeingSalmanKhan Not injured yaar, jst a hamstring pull while running. Bak to action.”

This is not the first time that Salman has been injured in the course of shooting this film. The actor had hurt his arm in March, again in the course of shooting of this film.

The film Mental is the remake of the super hit Telegu film titled Stalin. It is being directed by Sohail Khan and produced by the Sohail Khan productions. Salman has been paired with the South Indian actress, Daisy Shah in the film. Reportedly, Daisy was earlier approached for playing the second lead in Salman’s Bodyguard, but she refused the offer at that time. In addition to Daisy, Bigg Boss contestant Sana Khan is also appearing in an important role in the film.  The film is slated to be released next December. There was a rumor that the film would be made in 3D. However, director Sohail Khan said, "We are shooting the film in 2D. Some technicians in our crew have suggested that we do some 3D portions. First, let me complete my film in the normal format. Then I'll take a call."

There seems to be a spate of injury among the Bollywood actors in recent days. Hrithik Roshan had hit his head during the shooting ofBang Bang in Phuket, Thailand. It caused a subdural hematoma for which he had to undergo surgery. No wonder, in a recent press conference, actor John Abraham said that heroes have to be very careful about injuries and that he feels it is safer to perform stunts outside India.
