Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’ leaked online a day before release

Several reports on Wednesday, July 6, claimed that Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer has been leaked online. The much anticipated movie of the year was allegedly leaked a day before its theatrical release. ‘Sultan’ released in over 4500 screens across the country earlier today.

Yash Raj Films, the producers of the movie have, however, denied the development. But cyber crime experts said that the copy of the movie is available on the dark-net and may soon be available on torrent.

Investigator Kishlay Chaudhary has reportedly claimed that the two-hour-36-minute-long movie is available online and has also shared various screenshots of the same with media houses. He also said that many websites have been blocked since Tuesday and links have been removed immediately after upload, according to a report in a daily.

If ‘Sultan’ has indeed leaked online, it will be the third leak that has happened within a month. On Monday, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Sivdasani and Vivek Oberoi starrer upcoming adult comedy ‘Great Grand Masti’ reportedly leaked on the Internet. The film is scheduled to release on July 22, and its leak almost three weeks before it hit theatres will grievously damage the box-office prospects of the Indra Kumar directorial. The leaked print was allegedly the one send to the censor Board.

Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Udta Punjab’ also leaked two days ahead of its theatrical release on June 17. The leaked prints of the drug drama had the watermark ‘For censor’ which raised the suspicion that the board was behind the leak.

Previously, the censor copies of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’ and Ketan Mehta’s ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’ made their way onto the internet before their theatrical releases, causing losses to the producers.
