Salman Khan sentenced to one year jail

Salman Khan’s blackbuck case, which has been going on for seven years, has finally come to a decision. He is sentenced to one year jail and a fine of Rs. 5000 by a Jodhpur court. He has been charged for killing two chinkaras, a deer species, at Bhavad village in the Rajasthan district in 1998, during the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Salman was found guilty under the Wildlife Protection Act and the sentence will come into effect after one month. The superstar was present at the court at the time of the judgment. Khan has been given a period of 30 days to plea in a higher court of law, But Khan's lawyer said that there is no evidence against his client.

"We will appeal in the High Court and he will get bail," said Vikas Kapoor, Khan's secretary.

Apart from Salman Khan, seven others, including comedian Satish Shah have been accused in this case.
