Salman Khan, Jacqueline to reunite for Remo D’Souza’s ‘ABCD 3’

Choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza’s dance-based films ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’ and ‘ABCD 32’ have been quite successful. And now Remo has planned a third instalment in the franchise with superstar Salman Khan.

‘ABCD 3’ will star Salman who will reunite with his ‘Kick’ co-star Jaqueline Fernandez for the dance drama. The ‘Sultan’ actor will begin working on the project after he wraps up the shooting of Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ opposite Katrina Kaif.

A popular daily revealed the news and quoted a source as saying, “Salman starts Remo’s film right after he wraps up ‘TZH’. And the heroine has been finalised. Remo took his film to Jackie (Jacqueline) and she has liked the idea. She is out of the country, so once she’s back, he will sit down with her for a full script narration and lock her for the film.”

According to reports, Salman will play a father to a 13-year-old girl in ‘ABCD 3’. While the film will revolve around dance, it will be more of an emotional drama about relationship between the father-daughter duo. There will be a lot of dance elements in the film and Salman will get to show off his moves. The actor will undergo intensive dance rehearsals before he starts filming ‘ABCD 3’.

Speaking about the film’s plot, an insider was quoted as saying, “Salman and his daughter need to compete for a dance championship. Jackie (Jacqueline) plays the role of their dance teacher who helps them learn the ropes of different styles of dance forms.”

While the first-of-its-kind ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’, which released in 2013, was a sleeper hit, while 2015 film ‘ABCD 2’ starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor was critically acclaimed and commercially successful, crossing the Rs. 100 crore bar. The third part of the franchise was getting bigger and has managed to rope in a superstar like Salman.

However, the news is yet to be officially confirmed by the lead actor.

Meanwhile, Salman is gearing up for his big Eid release ‘Tubelight’ which is slated to hit theatres on June 23. His ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, sequel to his 2012 blockbuster ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is scheduled for release around Christmas this year.
