Salman Khan gives 'Double Trouble’ to ‘Bigg Boss' contestants

The much awaited reality show ‘Bigg Boss 9’ kicked off on Sunday night with superstar Salman Khan as the host for the sixth time in a row. The theme for the controversial show for this season being ‘Double Trouble’, contestants will be competing in pairs.

Before introducing the contestants, the ‘Dabangg’ actor gave a sneak-peak inside the Bigg Boss house which was colourful with rainbow colours. Everything was in ‘doubles’ – from chairs to bed to cups, plates and cutleries. This ‘double trouble’ is sure to raise the drama much higher.

Salman enters with his ‘Jai Ho’ co-star Daisy Shah and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant and actress Elli Avram. Both the actress gave a hint of the expected ‘double trouble’ as they wanted Salman to do the opposite of what the other was saying.

Chintan Gangar, who was introduced as ‘Jallad’ in season seven of the show and was also seen in season 8 as ‘Airporty Jallad’ also makes his presence on the show’s latest season. He is much entertaining as he doesn’t even smile, no matter how much Salman tries to make him laugh.

Newspersons from three popular channels also attended the premiere who grilled the contestants before they entered the ‘Bigg Boss’ house.

A total of fourteen contestants entered the house in seven pairs. Among them there are two off-screen couples – Kishwer Merchant and Suyash Kumar, Rochelle Maria Rao and Keith Sequeira and former lovers Ankit Gera and Roopal Tyagi who worked together in the television series ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke’. They had an ugly break-up after Ankit was said to be two-timing her with another actress. The couples, however, were paired with different participants for the show.

The first to enter the house was television actress Digangana Sooryavanshi. Salman explained the idea of ‘Double Trouble’ and said she will be entering the house with a partner and she was offered two choices. ‘Roadies X2’ winner Prince Narula and Roopal Tyagi introduced themselves on a screen. Digangana chose Roopal and they entered the house as the first pair.

The real-life couple Kishwer and Suyash made their entry on the ‘Bigg Boss 9’ stage with a stunning performance. Yet again, Kishwer chooses Aman Yata Verma over Prince and joined Digangana nd Roopal inside the house.

Bollywood actress Rimi Sen who was seen in films like ‘Dhoom’, ‘Hungama’, ‘Thank You’ etc is also participating in the show to resurrect her sinking career. The ‘Roadies X2’ winner is rejected for the third time as Rimi partners with Suyash.

Salman announces next contestant Yuvika Chaudhry who was seen in a small role in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Om Shanti Om’. She is made to choose between Prince and singer-actor Vikas Bhalla whom she makes her partner for the show leaving behind poor Prince.

After facing four rejections, Prince gets to choose for himself between model Rochelle and Iranian beauty Mandana Karimi who recently debuted with Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Bhaag Johnny’. They also gave a sizzling performance as they came on stage. Prince finally entered the house with Rochelle.

Mandana entered the house with Keith, Rochelle’s boyfriend. Ankit, who was rejected by Mandana was paired with Gujarati singer Arvind Vegda.

Years ago, Aman Verma was embroiled in a casting couch scandal, while Ankit is also known for his cassanova image. Season nine also gets a ‘firangi’ touch with Mandana’s appearance. Overwhelming drama is expected between the former flames Ankit and Roopal.

Bigg Boss has already begun giving the inmates ‘double trouble’ by telling that each pair will receive only one person’s luggage and asked them to decide whose bag they want. Seems like Bigg Boss has great plans ahead.

The timings of the show have also been changed. On week days – Monday to Friday, it will be aired at 10.30 PM while on weekends – Saturday and Sunday – Salman will host the show at 9.00 PM.
