Salman drops in uninvited to meet Rajinikanth at ‘2.0’ launch


Tamil superstar Rajinikanth along with Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and director Shankar launched the first look of their upcoming film ‘2.0’ at Yash Raj Studions in Mumbai on Sunday, November 20.

The cast of the sci-fi had a surprise visitor in Salman Khan, who dropped by just to meet Thalaivar and also posed for photographs with the actors.

"I have just come to see Rajinikanth. He's the most amazing man I have ever known. I wasn't actually invited. I got to know he was here so I came," said Salman Khan. The ‘Sultan’ actor also heaped praises on Akshay. He said, "Akki is one of the most hardworking and dedicated actors. If there is one actor in the industry who has had enormous growth, then it is him."

Rajinikanth also revealed he was willing to work with Salman Khan. "I would love to do a film with Salman tomorrow if he says yes to doing a film with me tomorrow," he said.

Praising Akshay’s work in the film, the ‘Kabali’ actor said, "I am not the hero of ‘2.0’, Akshay Kumar is. If given a choice, I would have loved to do that role. The entire country will applaud him when they see his work." He also added, "To work with Shankarji is difficult. He is a perfectionist and that is why he has stayed in the industry for so long."

Akshay Kumar, who plays the antagonist in his debut Tamil film, said, "Director Shankar said my role will be difficult but I enjoyed it. The subject is very unique. I'm sure this film will reach the standards of Hollywood." The Airlift’ also praised Rajinikanth saying, "Rajinikanth is not a superstar. He is a supergalaxy."

Karan Johar, whose Dharma Productions has got the distribution rights of the Hindi version of the movie, was also present at the event. Oscar winners A Rahman and Resul Pookutty, who have also contributed to the music and sound design of the film, also attended the event.

‘2.0’ is the sequel of 2010 sci-fi ‘Enthiran’ (Robot), starring Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa. The makers are eyeing a Diwali release for the sequel.
