Salman didn’t launch me; I was too shy to talk to him, Govinda’s daughter

Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja who is making her Bollywood debut with ‘Second Hand Husband’ rubbished the false rumor that she is being launched by Salman Khan. She clarified that her dad Govinda did not ask Salman to launch her in the industry.

There was thick speculation years back that Salman Khan would launch his partner’s daughter Tina in films after she accompanied Khan to IIFA Awards in 2007. It was also speculated that Tina was supposed to be launched by Salman in ‘Dabangg’ but the news turned to be false. It was also said that Govinda wants Salman to launch her daughter but he refused.

 “It was said that my dad asked him [Khan] to launch me. But it is not true. That was just a rumour. I was never going to be launched by him. It [the rumour] was all created by media,” she said.

Katrina Kaif, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, who was backed by Salman to make a mark in Bollywood.

Since Khan launched Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Dabangg’ in 2001, things turned sour between him and Govinda.

When asked about Salman, the actress added, “I have met him [Khan] just two-three times. I was too shy to talk to him. I don’t know what to talk to him [about]. He is my father’s friend, not mine.”

Second Hand Husband’ is being directed by Smeep Kang and also features Gippy Grewal and Dharmendra. It is slated to release on July 3.

Tina also expressed her desire to work with actors Akshay Kumar and Hollywood star Tom Cruise.
