Saif Ali Khan: love being 45, it’s a great age


Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming action thriller ‘Phantom’ celebrated his 45th birthday with budding singers on the set of reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior 2’.

Saif along with his co-star Katrina Kaif were on the show to promote their film ‘Phantom’ directed by Kabir Khan. The team organised a small birthday celebration for the actor where actress Sonakshi Sinha along with co-judges Vishal Dadlani and Salim Merchant, hosts Hussain Kuwajerwala and Asha Negi and the contestants joined him.

The actor enjoyed the show with the kids and also displayed his guitar playing skills.

Born on August 16, 1960 to actress Sharmila Tagore and former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan, Saif said he isn’t scared of getting older and loved being his age. “I love being 45. It is a great age,” he told PTI.

Saif took after his mother and made a career in Bollywood, debuting with Yash Chopra’s ‘Parampara’ in 1992. He tasted success with the 1994 films Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi. After passing through a lean phase during the 90s, he again got noticed in films like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Pareenita’, ‘Omkara’, 'Race' and others. Saif received the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in 2004 film ‘Hum Tum’.

Saif was earlier married to actress Amrita Singh and has two kids by her – daughter Sara and son Ibrahim. He is currently married to actress Kareena Kapoor.
