RK studio catches fire, Rishi Kapoor opens up

Fire broke out on Saturday on the set of ‘Super Dancer 2’ at RK studios sending out smoke and flames.

PS Rahangdale, the chief of the Mumbai fire brigade, said that the fire was called off at 2.22 pm. No injuries have been reported so far.

According to report, the studio caught fire from the electric wiring, electric installations, and decoration equipment in 100x80 sq ft area on the ground floor of the structure.

IANS quoted a source from the show saying, "Luckily, no one has got injured as the set of the show was locked and no one was shooting.... We shot at the location last week, and the next shoot was scheduled for 29 or 30 September."

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor opened up about the RK studios fire.

"A studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all R.K. Films, is tragic for all. Fire took it away," tweeted Rishi, son of the studio's founder, the legendary Raj Kapoor.

On Saturday afternoon, a major fire had broken out in the iconic studio in Chembur.

"We have lost the iconic Stage 1. Thankfully no casualties, nor injuries. All your concerns appreciated," Rishi had tweeted earlier in the evening.
