Rishi Kapoor takes a dig at Gajendra Chauhan

Veteran actor Gajendra Chauhan was heavily criticised for being appointed as the chairman of FTII. Former and current students of the institute boycott classes and demands for removal of Gajendra Chauhan from the chairman post. Joining the student in the protest is the Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor. The veteran actor too slammed the appointment of Chauhan, who is best known for his role as Yudhisthira on TV epic Mahabharata.

In a series of tweets, Rishi Kapoor categorically criticized

Kapoor, 62, posted on Twitter-

#Advice. After all the protests and controversy,Gajendra Chauhan, the FTII Chairman should voluntarily retire. Will do good to the students.

#If they don't want you, they don't want you.By pushing for the chairmanship is getting you no where.Let self pride play a role and retire!

#Wow overwhelmed. All TV channels requesting me to come on their show regarding FTII comment.I said keep watching Chintskap my own channel lol

The students felt that Gajendra Chauhan lacks "stature and vision" to head the institution.

Earlier, Rishi's son Ranbir Kapoor also came out in support of the students. "I don't think what the students are asking for is illogical, all they are asking for is to give them a fair chance a fair opportunity, correct faculty, correct syllabus. I really do pray that an institute that we all are so proud of and seen such great personalties emerge from... Shouldn't be a disappointment for student and future students," Ranbir said.
