Raveena takes a dig at Salman, Aamir for romancing younger actresses

The 1997 hit comedy ‘Judwaa’ starring Salman Khan is being remade with Varun Dhawan in the lead. A sequel of another cult comedy of those times – ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ by Rajkumar Santoshi, is also in the pipeline.

‘Andaz Apna Apna’ starred Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon in the lead. However, when it released in 1994, the movie didn’t fare well at the box-office, but over the years, it's funny one-liners, entertaining drama and melodious songs have turned it into an all-time favourite comedy giving it cult status.

Aamir and Salman had previously expressed their desire to be a part of the sequel. Now, in an interview to Bollywood Life, Raveena Tandon has also said that she would love to be a part of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ sequel. But her response was tongue-in-cheek and hilarious. The 42-year-old actress took a sly dig at her co-stars for their tendency to work with younger heroines.

Raveena said, “I would love to be game for it, but I know that my photograph is going to be hanging there. Aamir and Salman will be garlanding me and Lolo (Karisma Kapoor) and saying 'hamaari biwiyaan mar gayi, ab kya karein?' And then they will be running after 21-year-old heroines. So that's how the sequel is gonna start (sic).”

Raveena is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Maatr’, which revolves around the quest of a mother who is out to avenge her daughter’s rape and murder and the obstacles she faces in the path of justice.

The hard-hitting film has been written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, and also features Hasan Malik, Madhur Mittal, Divya Jagdal, Shailender Goyal, Anurag Arora, Saheem Khan and Rushad Rana.

'Maatr', is scheduled to hit theatres on April 21.
