Bald Ranveer Singh ditches ‘Bajirao Mastani’ for ‘Kill Dil’

Only a few days ago, media and social networking sites were abuzz when Ranveer Singh’s bald headed look for his upcoming film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was leaked. While the film’s makers are naturally trying to keep the details of the film minimum at this point, it is difficult for Ranveer to completely hide the look as he needs to make public appearances for the promotion of his other film, ‘Kill Dil’ that releases on 14th of November.

Now, reports have emerged that the shooting of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has been stopped.  However, there is no uncertainty about the project and the shooting is only being stopped for two weeks. The reason for this halt is that Ranveer needs to go on promotional overdrive as the release of ‘Kill Dil’ draws near. A source close to the production has informed, “There is nothing to be alarmed about. Ranveer‘s next release is Yash Raj films’ Kill Dil and he had no time to promote the film. But now with less than two weeks to go for release, Ranveer is compelled to give attention to his film’s promotion even if it means the halt of the Bajirao Mastani shooting.” Interestingly, when Ranveer was shooting for ‘Kill Dil’, director Shaad Ali had to give him a break because Ranveer had to promote Bhansali’s last film ‘Ram-Leela’.

Ranveer Singh has been trying hard to hide the bald look by wearing cap/ hat whenever he makes a public appearance. He recently appeared in two TV shows, ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and on both occasions his head was covered. But the bald head is not the only thing that he is hiding. Since he plays a Brahmin warrior, he also sports a braid but that is yet to be seen. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is a period drama based on the life of Maratha general Baji Rao.

Recently the actor has revealed that before shooting he has to spend almost 3 hours for getting ready. He said, “Trust me, the leading ladies Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone take one-and-half hours to put together their respective looks, but I take double that time. I thought I’ll save a lot of time since I don’t have to worry about my hair, but there’s an entire battalion of stylists that help me get ready. It’s very tiring.”

In another interview he has talked about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, “…it's a pleasure to work with the immensely talented Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is one of the best directors of all time. The way he indulges his actors is the reason why every actor gives his/her best performance in a Sanjay Leela Bhasali film. Because he is so supportive and gives them so much love and affection that he gives his actor.”
