Ranveer Singh’s health deteriorates during ‘Bajirao Mastani’ shoot


Bollywood actor has Ranveer Singh has proved that he is a hard-core professional and when it comes to work and commitment, nothing can stop him.

The actor who is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project ‘Bajirao Mastani’ continued to film his portions in the extreme heat, despite running a high fever, The Indian Express reported.

The crew of the period drama were on an outdoor shoot in Wai, Maharashtra, where the temperatures had soared over 40 degrees. The ‘Gunday’ actor who was already unwell continued shooting on a tight schedule, keeping aside his health concerns. They were filming a very crucial scene of the movie. However, the scorching sun and his fever took a toll on him and by the end of the shoot he was completely dehydrated to the extent that a doctor had to be called on the sets to monitor his health.

Ranveer’s dedication towards his work and his professionalism impressed the crew and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in particular. “Everyone on the sets was impressed by his professionalism and hard work. Not once did he lose grip of his character and essayed the role of a strong, fierce Peshwa to the T,” sources told the daily.

Ranveer plays the role of Maratha warrior Peshwa Baji Rao I in the film, and is his most challenging role in his career so far.

Apart from Ranveer, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Ranveer and Deepika are working for the second time with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after ‘Goliyoon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela’, so is Priyanka who had made a special appearance in a song in the 2013 film.

‘Bajirao Mastani’ is set to hit theatres on December 18.
