Ranveer Singh turns rapper for new Durex condom ad

The new Bollywood star, Ranveer Singh, is ready to lend his vocal skills for the first time in a new television commercial.

The ‘Gunday’ star, who has been appointed the brand ambassador of Durex, will be adding a new feather to his cap as a rapper in the commercial, which will be launched on April 23.

The 28-year-old actor reportedly said in a statement, “As an actor and as an individual, I have a propensity for pushing the envelope, breaking the mold and taking the road less traveled.

“Over the past three-and-a-half years that I’ve been a part of the Hindi film industry, I’ve declined several tempting endorsement offers. And now, finally, I’m doing the commercial for the world’s leading brand, Durex. I will also create awareness about sexual wellbeing and promote safe sex through this campaign.”

The actor, who is enjoying the success of his two consecutive hits, ‘Ram-leela…’ and ‘Gunday’, was spotted shooting for his first commercial, recently. The actor was seen in his usual cool self on the sets.

At present, the actor is busy shooting for ‘Kill Dil’ with National Award winning actress Parineeti Chopra. The two were recently seen in Lavasa, a spot near Mumbai on the sets of Yash Raj films’ ‘Kill Dil’.

They were snapped sitting on a white horse dressed up in flashy clothes. ‘Kill Dil’ is a romantic action film directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Aditya Chopra. Besides Ranveer and Parineeti, the movie features Govinda, Rani Mukerji and Ali Zafar in key roles as well.

Reportedly, Govinda will be playing a negative role in the film.

Director of the film Shaad Ali, while talking about the movie, said ‘Kill Dil’ was a film about the tricks the heart plays on an unsuspecting victim of love.

Earlier reports said, Deepika Padukone would be playing the female lead. But, it was later officially declared that Parineeti Chopra had been signed for the role.

It is set to release on November 14.

The actor is also slated to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s pet project ‘Bajirao Mastani’ opposite Deepika Padukone.

The latest news is that Ranveer Singh, in order to prepare for the Maratha warrior’s role in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has apparently hired a Marathi tutor to get the diction right. According to reports, director Bhansali has also decided to start Ranveer’s speech training well in advance before commencing the shooting in November.
