Rani, Kareena refuse to go bare for ‘Begum Samru’

Bollywood topmost actresses Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor refuse to act in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Begum Samru’ as the film demands lots of exposure. Unfortunately, Tigmanshu who proved his caliber in films like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’ had to face refusal from two successful ladies of Bollywood.

Tigmanshu at first approached Rani Mukherjee for the film but when she learn the film requires a lot of skin show, she opted out and Kareena too rejected the project for the same reason.

Speaking to a leading daily, Dhulia said, "I don't think any of the top actresses in our country would be comfortable with the nudity in Begum Samru. Certainly not any of the A-listers. So it's best if I sign an international actresss."

Both the actresses liked the project but they opted out due to excessive skin show. “The role requires a lot of body exposure from its heroine. Rani loved the script but declined because of nudity. Kareena, too, said no for the same reason, Dhulia added.

Begum Samru is a periodic film. She was a nautch in 18th century India but eventually became the ruler of Sardhana, a principality near Meerut. Later on she played a key role in the political power struggle in 18th and 19th century India.

Hope, Tigmanshu Dhulia gets a suitable heroine for his film!
