Rangoon: Desi Kangana Ranaut grooves to ‘Mere piya gaye England'
After releasing two super-hit tracks‘Bloody Hell’ and ‘Yeh Ishq Hai’ from ‘Rangoon’, on Wednesday evening the makers have released the third song from the much awaited film of 2017, ‘Rangoon’. The song titled, ‘Mere Piya Gaye England’. The song shows Kangana Ranaut dressed in a desi avatar and grooving to the yesteryear's track ‘Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon’ with alteration in the lyrics. The song is a tribute to the popular song of 1940's, '‘Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon’.
The song has been penned by Gulzar and singer Rekha Bhardwaj sung the entertaining song. The lyrics was quite funny and it includes popular leaders like Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill in the lyrics. The song was composed by the music composer and the director of the film, Vishal Bharadwaj.
The trailer of ‘Rangoon’ was released on January 6 and was hugely liked. Directed by National Award winning filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj, the period drama starring Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut, is set against the backdrop of World War II.
Shahid plays a soldier in the film, while Saif plays a filmmaker and mentor to a film star named Julia, played by Kangana.
During the period between 1939-1945, when Britain and its allies were fighting against Japanese invasion, India was also fighting for her independence, and the wave of Independence Movement was high.
‘Rangoon’ is slated to hit screens on February 24.
