Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar visit Aamir Khan post his injury


Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor along with filmmakers Ayan Mukherji and Karan Johar dropped by to visit Aamir Khan at his residence to enquire on his health after he suffered an injury on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Dangal’.

Aamir, who has been advised bed rest for one week by doctors greeted his friends and industry colleagues and also posed for a picture.  

The actor suffered a muscle spasm in his back while shooting for a wrestling sequence for his sports biopic ‘Dangal’ on Saturday (November 15). Doctors advised him bed rest for one week after which he returned home to Mumbai on Tuesday from Ludiana, Punjab where the film is being shot.

The ‘PK’ actor had also tweeted saying it wasn’t a major injury: “Hey guys, it’s not such a major injury. My back muscle has gone into a spasm. A week of rest and I will be back on shoot.”

After resting for a week, Aamir will take a call as to when to resume the shoot.

The 50-year-old actor plays the role of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the sports biopic. Mahavir is the father as well as the coach of Indian women wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari Phogat.

The film went on floors in September in Ludhiana. The film is also being shot in nearby villages - Kila Raipur and Gujjarwal – where the sets have been made to represent Haryana to showcase the wrestler's native village.

Actress Sakshi Tanwar will play the role of his wife in the film while newbies Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra will play the couple’s daughters Geeta and Babita respectively. Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar will play the younger versions of the daughters. Rajkummar Rao will also feature in the film.

‘Dangal’ is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is slated to release in December, 2016.
