Ranbir Kapoor gets an invitation to speak at the Yale University

Ranbir Kapoor has steadily climbed up the stardom ladder by giving outstanding and inimitable performances in each of his film. Ironically, though his debut film “Sawaariya” (2007) bombed at the box-office, this lad has never needed to look back since.

With his stardom being far-reaching, it is obvious that now he is being considered as an eminent personality even abroad. Thus Ranbir Kapoor has been invited to the Yale University, USA, to speak.

Last year it had been the ‘badshah’ of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan who had addressed a full house at the prominent Ivy League School.

Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting for Abhinav Kashyap’s film “Besharam”. He is also nearing the end of his shoot for the film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” which co-stars his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone. The latter is being produced by Karan Johar and is directed by Ayan Mukerji.

He has been invited to the foreign university in the month of April as a guest lecturer. He has thus been juggling his shoot schedule and dates to accommodate time for the trip.

Ranbir is considered as one of the finest actors of Bollywood’s young brigade. He has also been heaped with praises and awards, especially in the last two years. Imitiaz Ali’s film “Rockstar” (2011) and Anurag Basu’s “Barfi!” (2012) won him “Best Actor” awards in a row.

In 2012, Shah Rukh Khan had been named by the Yale University as a Chubb Fellow. However, his visit to the USA started on a bitter note. He had been detained at an airport in New York and had been interrogated by the immigration officials for about one and a half hours.

He was travelling with Nita Ambani and others where he had been the only one to be detained as his name was same as that of a terrorist.  When he reached the University he said it in his characteristic humorous way: “We were detained at the airport as always. For one and a half hours. It was nice. It always happens when I come to America. Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself I take a trip to America.”

With Ranbir so soon in his career being able to reach such great heights is a reminder to the others to reckon with his star power.

We are sure that Ranbir will be able to allure the students of the University with his wit and will enthrall them with his charisma.
