‘Tamasha’ on train: Ranbir, Deepika's fun trip from Mumbai to Delhi

The ‘Tamasha’ team including actors Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and director Imtiaz Ali, which embarked on a train journey from Mumbai to Delhi in an innovative means to promote the upcoming flick, received a warm welcome at their destination New Delhi from fans and media.

Suvidha Express, the train by which they travelled had added a special bogie to accommodate the film’s team. Unlike the red coaches, the ‘Tamasha’ bogie was very colourful and so it was not very difficult to identify it when the train arrived at platform four at the New Delhi railway station.

People thronged the station to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. They cheered as Ranbir and Deepika waved at the waiting crowd as they got down from the train.

It was Deepika’s idea to travel by train as she had not experienced a train ride in a long time. Her co-star in the film Ranbir fulfilled her wish. He got the flight tickets cancelled and planned the promotional trip to the national capital.

The ‘Tamasha’ team shared all the fun they had during the rail ride with fans online. Right from boarding the train at Mumbai Central and alighting at New Delhi, they indulged in all sorts of activities that train travellers usually do – like singing, dancing, listening to music, playing games, sharing food etc. They also got down at the two stoppages Vadodra and Kota to stretch their legs.

They gorged on the dinner from the train’s pantry and interacted with the staff of the pantry. Although, they had a separate coach, they explored other bogies and interacted with passengers and clicked selfies with them.

The hashtag #TrainMeinTamasha was trending on Twitter on Sunday. After this one-of-a-kind promotional trip, Ranbir, Deepika and Imtiaz are now reportedly planning another unique idea of promoting ‘Tamasha’ by travelling in a tonga.
