‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ trailer: Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives the chills

The trailer of Anurag Kashyap’s psychological thriller ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal released on Tuesday. The movie is based on the psychopath serial killer Raman Raghav who operated in Mumbai during the mid-1960s.

Nawazuddin, who plays the title role, is seen talking about his obsession of killing innocent people. He speaks about his game of walking on the streets which he equates with a chessboard saying he steps only on the black squares. He believes he is gifted with a talent which enables him to continue his game. He is seen prowling the streets carrying an iron pipe, his weapon.

Vicky plays the role of drug addict cop Raghavan who emotionally and mentally disturbed due to his personal life. Raman gets obsessed with him and wants to hunt him down, while Raghavan too takes the charge to investigate the serial killings. Soon a cat-and-mouse game begins.

The trailer is dark and gloomy and the dark alleys and slums under the night sky heighten the darkness of the plot. Both Nawazuddin and Vicky are outstanding in their acts.

Anurag’s last Bollywood film ‘Bombay Velvet’ failed miserably, but ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ seems promising. The movie will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16 and will hit theatres on June 24.
