Ram Kapoor’s house robbed, cash, gold worth Rs 11.6 lakh stolen

Ram Kapoor along with his mother Rita Kapoor lodged a complaint at the Malabar Hill Police Station on Wednesday (August 5, 2015) after they found that cash and gold worth Rs 11.6 lakh was stolen from their house in upscale Grand Paradi Society, where the actor’s parents reside. During the time of robbery, Ram Kapoor’s parents were not in the house.

Rita Kapoor (Ram's mother) was at their Khandala farmhouse for  the past four days while his father Anil Kapoor was aboard. On returning, they found that cash and gold worth Rs 11.60 lakhs have been robbed.

Crime branch officers on Thursday morning took the fingerprints on the locker. An FIR (first investigation report) has also been filed against unidentified people under sections 454 (house break-in), 457 (house break-in by night) and 380 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police suspected that some insider might be involved in the incident. However, Ram Kapoor is relieved that his parents were not there when the robbery took place and that they are fine.

Ram, who confirmed the news said, “My father has been out of the country for quite some time now and my mother was at our farmhouse in Khandala for the last four days. She is shaken by the incident. It was her locker that was broken into. The complaint was submitted Wednesday night.”

The TV actor also agree with the police that some insider might be involved in the theft.
