Ram Gopal Varma dedicates autobiography to porn star, gangsters


Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has dedicated his autobiography titled ‘Guns & Thighs’, to some actors, a porn star and a few gangsters. According to him, they have “contributed” in his life one way or the other. The book will be released next month by Rupa publications.

The ‘Satya’ director who is an avid user of social media took to Twitter on Wednesday and wrote, “I dedicated my book to Ayn Rand, Bruce Lee, Urmila Matoandkar, Amitabh Bachchan, pornstar Tori Black and a few gangsters.”

“The dedication to them was in accordance with their tremendous contribution in my life one way or the other,” the filmmaker added in another tweet.

Ram Gopal Verma, who has directed films across multiple genres, including parallel cinema and docudrama, shared the cover of his book on the micro-blogging site earlier this month.  He also mentioned that some chapters in the book has startling revelations about when he called Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan an idiot; his own journey with the underworld and his affairs with women.

“Some chapters in it..When I called Amitabh bachchan an idiot, My affair with the Underworld,Women in My Filmy Life,” Varma had tweeted.

The filmmaker has also written another biography titled ‘Na Ishtam which released in December 2010 in Hyderabad. It discussed his life experiences and philosophy.

Ram Gopal Varma is said to be working on a martial arts film titled ‘Bruce Lee’, the trailer of which was released in October this year. According to him, the film is about a fan of the martial arts guru and is a tribute to Bruce Lee.

The film will be made in Hindi and dubbed in Telugu, according to reports.
