Rajkumar Santoshi admitted to hospital, undergoes angioplasty


Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi was not keeping well since the past few days and he was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle, Mumbai. He was facing breathing problem and comfortless for some days. He was admitted due to heart related disease.

After admission, doctors conducted preliminary tests and suggested that an angioplasty surgery has to be done immediately. The surgery was conducted successfully.

"He has been admitted to the hospital for a heart-related problem. We can't share any further information at the moment," a hospital official said.

Rajkumar Santoshi has delivered some hard-hitting and critically acclaimed films such as Ghayal, Damini and Khakee, and comedy movies like Andaz Apna Apna and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani. His last directorial release, Shahid-starrer Phataa Poster Niklaa Hero failed at the box-office.

He is under the treatment of Dr Vivek Mehan

His film 'Pukar' won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

He also bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi for 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh'.

The renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is currently directing the film titled Battle of Saragarhi. The film stars Randeep Hooda in the lead role.

The filmmaker is under observation and will be discharged in few days.
