Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’: Telugu stars Chiranjeevi or Mahesh Babu to play cameo?
Rajinikanth starrer-upcoming film ‘2.0’, a sequel of 2010 sci-fi ‘Enthiran’ (Robot), seems to be bigger. At a budget of Rs 350 crore, it is currently India’s most expensive film ever made, taking the title from ‘Baahubali 2’ which has a budget of Rs. 250 crore.
The movie also stars Bollywood’s busiest actor Akshay Kumar in the role of the main antagonist, and now, buzz is that the makers are considering a cameo by a Telugu superstar. Reports suggest that either megastar Chiranjeevi or Mahesh Babu might be offered the cameo in the sequel, which is being simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Although the ‘Kabali’ actor himself is quite popular among the Telugu masses, it is said that a popular Telugu star’s presence will attract more Telugu audience, and will help boost the film’s collection.
An official confirmation in this regard is still awaited.
Directed by S. Shankar, who also helmed the prequel, the sci-fi also stars Amy Jakson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in key roles. Two-time Academy winning composer A.R. Rahman will be giving the music to the film being produced by Lyca Productions.
