The legendary filmmaker was admitted to hospital for fever and some age-related diseases. The ‘Lingaa’ star informed that his guru recognized him and smiled at him. 84-years-old Padma Shri awardee Balachander was taken to hospital after his assistants found him in an unconscious state at his residence.

"I went in to see KB sir and I'm happy to say that he recognised me. He is fine and he will get better," said Rajinikanth at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan also wished his guru K Balachandet a speedy recovery. He is currently busy with the post-production work of Tamil film Uttama Villain in Los Angeles.

"KB sir recently asked me to complete Uttama Villain as quickly as possible. He said he'd like to watch it before he goes away. I could understand his eagerness in watching the film. When I heard that he was critical, I quickly rang up his manager," Kamal said in a video.

Kamal Haasan wished that he quickly wraps up his work soon and come to meet KB sir. "When I spoke to KB sir, he replied in his faint voice. I informed him that I will visit him as soon as I return after completing the post-production work. I didn't understand a word of what he spoke for the next few minutes," Haasan said

Kamal also wished to show him the rushes of his film, he said: "KB sir wouldn't like it if I leave the job incomplete and come back. My only concern is if I can complete the film, I can show it to him.

"I wish he wakes up and joins us soon."

Kamal Haaasan and K Balachander worked together in almost 40 films. Hospital sources informed that he is in the ICU but Balachander's condition is 'stable' and he is being treated for fever and some age-related ailments.
