Rain hampers Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ shoot

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who gave a miss to the three-day-long IIFA 2015 extravaganza wanted to concentrate on the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Raees’.

However, the unexpected showers in Mumbai, has played spoilsport and brought the shooting of 'Raees' to a halt. The ‘Chennai Express’ star had undergone a knee surgery last month and was advised by doctors to take rest. But the actor chose to work in pain as the crew had to finish filming some action sequences before the onset of monsoon. Stunt director Ravi Varma is looking after the action scenes in the film.

The 49-year-old actor, who is working tirelessly for the Rahul Dholakia directorial, expressed his exasperation on Twitter. “Feel awful the whole of Raees team fighting against rain & time…my injury hampering Ravi Varma, Rahul & Maneka even more. Damn,” King Khan posted.

Shah Rukh has been so dedicated in his work that he even practised for garbha, a traditional dance form, despite his knee pain.

‘Raees’ also stars Farhan Akhtar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actors Abdul Ahad Asif and Mahira Khan.  The action thriller is jointly produced by Excel Entertainment founded by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

The film is about a bootlegger whose business is thwarted by a tough policeman. ‘Raees’ is scheduled to release on Eid next year.
