Rahul takes away all the limelight, Dimpy Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan came into the limelight after the death of his father Pramod Mahajan who was a leading politician. However, Rahul Mahajan seemed to take a different course by joining celebrity reality show “Bigg Boss”.

He took things a step further by getting married on a television show titled “Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenga” with a girl named Dimpy. Today after three years, the husband-wife duo has participated in yet another television show based on dance, called “Nach Baliye”, which is mainly for celebrities.

Dimpy who is a dancer recently said that it is her non-dancer husband who takes away the spotlight from her.

She said, “It`s very difficult to dance with him. He has no sense of beats at all. I really have to work hard to make our performance presentable. But Rahul takes away all the limelight because he is too adorable and everyone knows he cannot dance.”

The couple was interviewed when they reached Delhi in order to search for a non-celebrity couple- the 12th pair for the show.

Dimpy then revealed that her reason for participating in the show was that she wanted to spend time with her husband.

She said, “I would suggest every married or unmarried couple should take up dancing. It is such a beautiful art form that ignites a passion between the two. We are enjoying together doing something creative. Since, we both are involved in the one show, we are getting maximum time to spend with each other.”

Dimpy is from Kolkata and was a model before she married him. She has appeared in Bengali soaps, and has also won a beauty pageant in the regional level. She has also featured in a Bengali film titled, “Hello Memsaheb”, which released in 2011.

The reality show “Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenga” where she beat 16 other contestants to marry him, catapulted her to stardom.

Talking about her marriage she revealed, “I went on the show thinking it was a sham. I was not serious about my wedding because I was 21. But, from the beginning, Rahul was very serious about marriage. I met him on the show and found that we are two crazy people with many similar interests. We tied the knot and I don`t regret it. I am very happy with him and it was a dream wedding.”

Dimpy has appeared on shows such as “Kahaani Chandrakaanta Ki”, “Comedy Circus” and Zor Ka Jhatka”. Now she wants to give a pause to her career and start her family.

She said, “We will complete three years in March. Now, I want to concentrate on my family. I have been working since I was 16…. I want to have a family now.”
