Shah Rukh Khan starrer much awaited film ‘Raees’ is set to hit screens this month, and in the run-up to the release, the superstar has shared two new posters of the crime drama on Monday, January 2.
The first poster features both Shah Rukh and Pakistani beauty Mahira Khan in an intense pose. While Shah Rukh looks bruised with blood trickling from his face, Mahira’s eyes are closed. The poster comes with a powerful tagline, ‘Tu shama hai toh, Yaad rakhna… Main bhi hoon parwaana’.
The second poster features Shah Rukh as the gangster Raees Alam, his character in the film, and has an imposing feel to it. The poster has Shah Rukh’s face sideways with his dark glasses on and a black keffiyeh-like fabric covering his head.
Shah Rukh released the poster on Twitter with a very apt caption, ‘O #Zaalima...’
The trailer of the film released last month has already hiked the anticipation level of movie buffs and Shah Rukh fans. It can be gauged from the fact that the trailer crosses 10 million views well before 24 hours of its release.
Directed by Nitish Tiwari, the crime drama is said to be loosely based on Ahmedabad-based don Abdul Latif who ran the illicit liquor business in the state during the peak of Prohibition in the 1990s. Shah Rukh plays the titular character of a bootlegger, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays a police officer who vows to thwart Raees’ illegal trade. It is the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira.
‘Raees’ is scheduled to release on January 25.
