‘Raees’ on rail: Travelling by train is romantic for Shah Rukh

Team ‘Raees’, including Shah Rukh Khan, director Rahul Dholakia co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Sunny Leone, took a train journey on board August Kranti Rajdhani Express from Mumbai to Delhi, to promote the crime drama.

The team was also accompanied by media persons who interacted with the superstar, who talked about his long association with trains. “I have a long train association. I am really happy being on train, I find it very romantic and beautiful. There is a small train sequence in ‘Raees’ as well that changes his life,” he said.

Shah Rukh added that they wanted to travel to different cities to promote ‘Raees’, but they decided that they should call everyone on a train and do the whole interaction on it. “…A member from my team said that we should take a train ride. There is a small train sequence in the film so he said trains are very closely attached to your being. 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' (Dil Se…), 'Chennai Express', even 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman' had a train, 'Main Hoon Na' had me come out of a train, 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' had me see-off one of the ladies in a train. It's been long since I travelled in one, but all the talk in improvement of the conditions of trains is true,” the actor said.

"In India, I am travelling (by train) after very long. In London I keep travelling. When I go to see my son and daughter, there I have to take a train and travel for an hour. Here I don't remember the last time I travelled by train,” Shah Rukh added.

In course of the 18-hour-long journey, the ‘Raees’ special train had stopovers at Andheri, Borivili, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Baruch, Baroda, Ratlam, Kota, Savai Madhopur and Mathura, and each stop was swelling with cheering fans chanting Shah Rukh’s name. The actor also waved to his fans.

‘Raees’ also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan and is slated to release tomorrow, January 25.
