Radhika Apte gets a taste of Kolkata literally

Actress Radhika Apte who was in Kolkata to shoot for ‘Kahaani’ director Sujoy Ghosh’s Bengali short film ‘Ahalya’ said it was an exciting experience.

The ‘Badlapur’ actress plays the lead in the film while veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee and Tota Roy Choudhury also play key roles. The film is a thriller and has suspense and mystery. It is all set to release online soon.

Radhika shot for two days to complete the short film with a running time of about 20 minutes.

During the shooting the actress was also treated with Bengali delicacies. The director treated his cast and crew, who worked so hard for the film, with Bengali cuisine like ‘rosgullas’, ‘mishti doi’, ‘aaloo posto’ etc., all of whom enjoyed having them.

Radhika, who was last seen in ‘Hunterrr’, said she enjoyed working with the director on his new project. “It was an exciting proposition. It was a great experience to work with Sujoy,” she said in a statement.

Radhika had earlier also worked in Anurag Kashyap’s short film titled ‘That Day After Everday’. The film about eve teasing was released online in 2012.

She had also worked in Bengali feature films like ‘Antaheen’, ‘Rupkatha Noy’ and ‘Pendulum’. She speaks the language quite fluently.
