Radhe Maa says she is pure and pious


Self-proclaimed god woman Radhe Maa who has been accused of deceiving her devotees, abetting suicides and instigating a woman’s torture for dowry told media that she has never hurt anybody.

The 50-year-old controversial god woman who made headlines after her pictures in a red mini-skirt went viral, said, “I am pure and pious, I have never hurt anybody.” She also stated that she was like a mother to her devotees and there was nothing wrong in showering love and affection on children.

Wearing her trademark red dress, heavy jewellery and make-up, she also denied all the charges against her. She said her followers have faith in her and God is with her and so she has nothing to be tensed for.

Radhe Maa's statement comes a day after she was served summons the Mumbai police in connection with a dowry harassment case filed by a 32-year-old woman. The police said they plan to record her statement on Friday, a news portal reported.

According to police, the woman has accused the ‘god woman’ of instigating her in-laws who have been her followers for many years, to demand dowry from her. The woman in her complaint said that her husband's family tortured her on Radhe Maa advice and forced her to serve the ‘godwoman’ and do chores for her and give her massages.

Another complaint accused Radhe Maa of abetting the suicide of seven members of a poor family in Kutch, Gujarat after failing to keep her promises to improve their lot.

Radhe Maa is the name taken on by Sukhvinder Kaur, a mother of three children. Many of her devotees believe she has supernatural powers. She reportedly started calling herself a ‘godwoman’ since the age of 23, according to NDTV.
