‘Raazi’ Trailer: Alia Bhatt’s power packed performance leaves a mark

The trailer of Meghna Gulzar's ‘Raazi’ was unveiled today and Alia Bhatt yet again delivered a power-packed performance. She enacts the role of an Indian girl sent to Pakistan to source out information. It is a period thriller set against the backdrop of 1971 war. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat. 

It is a true story of an Indian Kashmiri woman, who is sent to Pakistan and gets married to a Pakistani Army Officer, played by Vickey Kaushal. Alia plays the role of Sehmat spying on her husband and sent information to the Indian intelligence.

The makers have described the film on their YouTube channel as- "Raazi is based on a true story of a young girl, who was sent to Pakistan in 1971, to source out any information she could, as war was becoming imminent between India and Pakistan. It is the journey of an ordinary Indian girl, in extraordinary circumstances."

‘Raazi’ is reportedly an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's Calling Sehmat in produced by Dharma Productions.
