‘Raazi’: Alia Bhatt’s bidai song ‘Dilbaro’ is heart-warming


A new song ‘Dilbaro’ from Meghna Gulzar ‘Raazi’ was unveiled and the song beautiful captures Alia Bhatt’s emotional turmoil. It is bidai song and it beautifully describes the father-daughter bonding. The USP of the song is the lyrics penned by Gulzar Saab and the golden voice of Harshdeep Kaur. The song was soulfully sung and depicts the conflict in Alia Bhatt’s mind. ‘Dilbaro’ is high on emotional appeal and musicians Shankar-Eshaan-Loy enhanced the essence of the song by using Kashmiri couplets.

Sharing the song, Alia wrote, “#Dilbaro is a song that made me tear up the first time I heard it.. the lyrics are simple, powerful and just beautiful. Written by the maestro Gulzar Saab. I couldn’t help but think of my father who’s held my hand but also let my fly.. my most special friendship! Love you papa.”

Shankar Mahadevan has also crooned a few lines in the soulful number. Praising lyricist Gulzar, Shankar wrote on twitter, “Dilbaro is a song about a father & daughters emotions! @GulzarPoetry sahab’s poetry works on multiple levels in this song which we’ll understand when we watch the film.”

It is a true story of an Indian Kashmiri woman, who is sent to Pakistan and gets married to a Pakistani Army Officer, played by Vickey Kaushal. Alia plays the role of Sehmat spying on her husband and sent information to the Indian intelligence.

‘Raazi’ is reportedly an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's Calling Sehmat in produced by Dharma Productions. 

‘Raazi’ is scheduled to hit the screens on May 11, 2018.
