Punjab National Bank scam: Priyanka Chopra sues Nirav Modi for non-payment


Priyanka Chopra has slapped legal notice on Nirav Modi for non-payment of dues. The actress has done a diamond ad campaign with actor Sidharth Mahotra and accused that Modi did not pay for the ad.

Diamond merchant Nirav Modi was named as the prime accused in Rs 11,400 crore scam of Punjab National Bank, Mumbai branch. The bank named three diamond firms who have benefited from the fraud — Diamonds R Us, Solar Exports, and Stellar Diamonds. According to the reports, in all of these firms Nirav and his family members are partners. 

In 2017, Priyanka and Sidharth were appointed as the brand ambassadors. Priyanka in a statement had said, “My association with Nirav Modi is like a meeting of minds in many ways. We are both fiercely proud of our heritage and are united by the idea of bringing a modern India to the global forefront. His jewels are one of a kind and effortless, with an understated elegance."

Sidharth Malhotra is also not interested to associate with the brand anymore. 

Lisa Haydon also campaigned for Nirav Modi. Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur launched his store in New York City. Nirav’s creations are also worn by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh, Shilpa Shetty in the past.

Not only Bollywood actress but Hollywood actresses like Karlie Kloss, Kate Upton, Stella Maxwell and Olivia Munn have sported the jewelry designed by him at many red-carpet events.
