Priyanka, Lara, Dia, Big B congratulate 'Miss World' Manushi Chhillar

India’s Manushi Chhillar was crowned Miss World 2017 at Sanya City Arena, in China at a glittering event and with this Manushi, a medical student brought pride and honour to India. Manushi beats118 contestants from different countries to bag the coveted title. She was crowned by Miss World 2016, Miss Puerto Rico, Stephanie Del Valle.

India had to wait 17 years to get the next Miss World. Priyanka Chopra was the last Miss World winner and now Manushi won the prestigious title for India.

No sooner the news the declared, congratulatory message was pouring from every corner. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Manushi for her big win and also Bollywood celebrities took to their Twitter account to congratulate Manushi.

 Born on 14th May, 1997 to doctor parents in Haryana, Manushi’s father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation, while her mother, Dr. Neelam Chhillar, is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

 She studied at St. Thomas' School in New Delhi, and was pursuing a medical degree at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat. Manushi is also a trained Kuchipudi dancer. Chhillar has also attended the National School of Drama.
