Priyanka suffers accident on ‘Quantico’ set; released from hospital
Priyanka Chopra was rushed to a hospital after she suffered an accident on the sets of her American drama series ‘Quantico 2’. The 34-year-old actress has been released by doctor, and is now "resting comfortably" at her home, the production team of ABC said.
According to celebrity news portal TMZ, Priyanka had slipped and fell while performing a stunt during the filming of the show on Thursday. She suffered a concussion after hitting her head.
A representative of the actress didn’t confirm the head injury, but said, “…There was a minor incident last night (Thursday) on set. Priyanka was immediately taken to the hospital, examined by a doctor and released. She is resting comfortably at home on doctor’s orders, and will return to work after the weekend."
Priyanka was noticeably absent during a press event for ‘Quantico 2 on Friday. Meanwhile, the production of the ABC show, which shifted filming to New York for the second season, will not be halted while Priyanka recovers.
Priyanka, who has already carved a niche for herself in the West, will be making her Hollywood debut with ‘Baywatch’, the big screen adaptation of the eponymous popular television series of 1990s. She will feature as the antagonist Victoria Leeds in the action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, among others.
Directed by Seth Gordon, ‘Baywatch’ is scheduled to release in theatres on May 26.
