Priyanka Gandhi wears grandmother Indira Gandhi's saree

Priyanka Gandhi made people nostalgic recently as she was seen in a beautiful saree. The saree brought back the 49 year old memories of none other than her grandmother Indira Gandhi. The same saree had been worn by Indira Gandhi when she visited USA in 1966. An image from back then shows Indira in exactly the same saree when she visited White House. She had attended state banquet that President Lyndon B Johnson had hosted.

Priyanka was seen in the grand reception of Naina Bachchan, who is Amitabh Bachchan’s niece. Naina tied the knot with actor Kunal Kapoor and the wedding reception was held at a Delhi farmhouse. The bond between Priyanka Gandhi and Teji – the grandmother of Niana Bachchan is a very special one.  Priyanka looked utmost elegant as she posed for the cameras on the occasion. Other personalities at the event were - Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan and many other celebs.

Amitabh Bachchan then shared his emotions with his fans on his blog memories. “Nothing moves the mind greater than the memories of those that were a part of your life in constancy some ‘millions of years ago’... tonight as I met with them, it was a time capsule that had suddenly exploded before your eyes... each and every little detail of those days and years and situations and banter and fun... all came back like it had never gone away at all. It is a wedding atmosphere, there are thousands of guests and rituals and bonhomie being conducted, yet somewhere in all the ‘rush of life’ there pounds a heart that does not wish to reconcile with the images that unfold before....I come away... deftly...,” wrote Bachchan.

Naina is the daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan, Amitabh’s brother. She got married to Kunal Kapoor in a private ceremony on Seychelles Islands on 9th February. The wedding reception that was held on 11th April was a lavish one. Meet Brothers Harmeet and Manmeet gave a rocking performance. Then Hrithik and Abhishek joined the brothers to sing “Desi Girl”.

The bride looked lovely in a maroon lehenga that was adorned in heavy work. Kunal was seen in black bandhgala sherwani and white churidar. Needless to say, all eyes were on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She looked breath taking in floor-length red anarkali with amazing golden work. The venue of reception was most beautifully decorated. Credit goes to designer Rohit Bal and J & S Event Planners.
