Priyanka Chopra’s nightmare at Reddit session

Priyanka Chopra, the Bollywood diva created a buzz when she declared that she will be hosting an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session (popularly known as AMA session) on the web based networking site Reddit.com. However, the session conducted by her on Wednesday left the Redditors disappointed.

The session started on a good note. Priyanka’s introduction lines read as, “Hello reddit… it’s Priyanka. I’m currently crisscrossing the world shooting for a film in Europe, attending a family wedding in the US, taking care of business in India! But I’m taking time off from all of that to have a conversation with all of you. You may know me as an actor, recording artist, former Miss World, philanthropist, daughter, sister and dreamer.” She also added, “I’m here to entertain, but for now … dare I say it … ask me anything.”

Things went smooth initially as Priyanka comfortably spoke about her love for Nutella, dislike for working out at gyms and about the post production work of her upcoming movie ‘Mary Kom’. The session started to grow hot as the users started to ask the hard hitting questions. She started receiving questions about her endorsement of fairness creams, whether she had undergone plastic surgery or not and about the correctness of naming a Mumbai street after her father.

Chopra soon grew quiet and stopped replying to all the questions. The Redditors started commenting about her silence and insisted that she will remain silent. This gave rise to the speculation among many users that the entire AMA session might have been answered by her media team and not the diva herself.

The unanswered question during the session that became one of the ten comments read as, “What contributions has your father made that a road was renamed after him and not after countless other people who strived and died for India? What made you decide to nominate him and not other people for such a thing? I as a citizen of this city would like to know from you since the whole deal of renaming a city road unnecessarily is sketchy and shady and reeks of corruption.”

After the drubbing session Priyanka only posted the line, “This has been interesting. Thank you guys for your time. I’m sorry I could not get to everyone’s questions but I hope you enjoyed this as well.” The Indian media has come out in support of the diva and has criticized the internet trolls. Rediff.com summed up the quality of the comments in the session as “inundated with rude, impolite and, at times, downright insulting questions.”
